Black & White

Angus owned Olympus

I like to imagine our camera purchased in the 70s,
from a grizzled bookshop keeper,
I like to imagine my young grandfather stringing fresh film across the sprocket,
a man’s most life to be captured on 35mm,
years shutter by,
a life lived in the aperture,
dim days and bright,
a life lived between the exposures and within them;
and one day the camera is passed to a grandson,
and one day it’ll be passed again,
a life is lived in the meantime,
between the exposures
and within them.

Thank you, Opa.

This Canon belongs to M. Lundin;
this photo was taken by him,
with my Olympus.

This photo was taken
by Simon Ryder,
on my birthday, some years ago.
